Natural Rhythm Bio 2025
Natural Rhythm is the duo of house music artists artists Thomas White and Pete Williams. Founded in 1996 just south of Los Angeles in Orange County, Natural Rhythm established themselves quickly with their first vinyl release, “The Jive EP” on Earthtones (later known as Seasons) Recordings which was a DJ chart topping underground hit around the world and received acclaim in industry-leading publications like MixMag, DJ Magazine, XLR8R and more. Thomas and Pete quickly got back to work on more music and in the past 25+ years they have released hundreds of original productions, remixes, and DJ only edits, and have travelled across North America supporting their music through live performances and DJ gigs.
Natural Rhythm are among the founders of what became known as the “West Coast House Sound” of the late 90’s and early 00’s. This sun drenched, delay laden, filtered house sound has its roots with the originators that came out of Chicago, New York and Europe who paid tribute to disco, funk and soul classics with modern renditions and clever sample layering to create new rhythmic productions aimed at hypnotizing dancefloors in search of the almighty boogie. Live performance was key to Natural Rhythm in the early years and those early shows along the golden West Coast of America helped the boys to spread their sound into the underground.
Thomas and Pete originally met in 1994 at a warehouse party where they were both coincidentally invited to DJ. They formed an immediate connection to each other based on their similar appreciation for deep underground house. Best friends to this day, the pair now live in different parts of North America with Thomas near Los Angeles and on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. They have reinvested into their artistry recently in 2024 with a renewed vigor for writing fresh underground music. DJ performance and the reinvention of their own record label, Natural Rhythm Music are also part of the formula with new releases and a calendar of upcoming music coming soon. Not content to work entirely in-house, the duo has already signed releases and completed remix work for new labels Vessel Recordings, Sounds of Style Records, and Flurb with new projects always coming soon.
Natural Rhythm have been featured as original artists on the labels including Robsoul, Large Music, Moulton Music, No Fuss Records, Guesthouse Music, Frosted Recordings, Hooj Choons, Earthtones Recordings, Seasons Recordings, Dufflebag Recordings, Doubledown Recordings, Lowdown Music, Fast Forward FFWD, Under The Counter, Mosaic, Vista Recordings, Blockhead Recordings, Odds & Ends Recordings, Safe In Sound Music, Nightshift Recordings, Life Music, Amenti Music, .dotbleep Recordings, Detour Recordings, Flatpack Traxx, Serial Sickness, Kinjo Music, Black Crack Records, Radda Records, Panhandle Music Co., Apollo Music Group, Serious Sounds, Craniality Sounds, and LW Recordings.
