Founded in Hawai’i 14 years ago, Vessel Recordings is more than just a label—it’s a movement. Built on decades of deep connections, hand-selected artists, and a relentless commitment to quality, Vessel is a home for those who push underground music forward.
Curated by Ira James, Vessel was born out of a desire to create something truly special—a niche brand where artists are chosen not just for their music, but for their history, relationships, and dedication to the craft. From the dancefloors of San Francisco, LA, Dallas, NYC, and beyond, the Vessel sound has evolved, blending influences from legendary house and techno communities worldwide.
After a five-year hiatus, the passion for vinyl came roaring back, and with it, a new chapter for the label. In an industry now dominated by digital, Vessel is keeping the physical art form alive, pressing limited-edition 170g color vinyl records, analog-mastered by Gil Tamazyan at Capsule Labs and pressed at Onyx Press in LA. It’s not just music—it’s a tangible, collectible experience.
Vessel’s roster is stacked with some of the most respected and innovative artists in underground music, including Doc Martin, Joshua IZ, Andrew Macari, Demuir, DJ Sneak, Thomas White (Natural Rhythm), Nonfiction, Chris Mohn, Wally Callerio, Jordan Strong, Juwan Rates, Jlove, Kid Enigma, Get Blaster, Hector Morales, Jaemus, Sen-Sei, Pezzner, Jon Lee (Tilted Records), Andrew Emil, and Lain McPhearson. With Jose Tabor stepping in as A&R, the label is expanding its reach while staying true to its roots.
